Manchester United are reportedly hopeful interest from Tottenham in goalkeeper Dean Henderson could boost their pursuit of Harry Kane this summer.

Tottenham are seeking a long-term successor for captain Hugo Lloris, with the 36-year-old approaching the end of his time at the club.

According to ESPN, Henderson would be of interest to Spurs when his loan spell at Nottingham Forest expires.

Henderson's future at Old Trafford remains uncertain despite having a contract until 2025, which can be extended for a further year.

The 26-year-old admitted in September he had fallen behind other goalkeepers in the England set-up, following a lack of game-time at Man United last season.

Henderson had criticised United for misleading him about the amount of game time he would receive at the club, shortly after joining Nottingham Forest on loan.

The shot-stopper made just three appearances last season after remaining behind David de Gea in the pecking order.

Henderson made 18 consecutive Premier League appearances this campaign for Forest, before sustaining a thigh injury in January.

Tottenham have also been linked with Brentford's David Raya and Everton's Jordan Pickford in their search for a new number one, despite the latter signing a new deal last month.

Should Spurs follow up on their interest in Henderson, United are reportedly hopeful this could boost their pursuit of Kane.

Tottenham are claimed to have demanded an up-front payment of £100million if they are to sell Kane this summer.

The club's record goalscorer has just over a year remaining on his current contract.

United are reportedly keen to avoid lengthy negotiations as it could delay their plans to improve Erik ten Hag's attack.

Napoli's Victor Osimhen and Eintracht Frankfurt's Randal Kolo Muani have been mooted as alternative options in their pursuit of a striker.
